1st Stop: Évora
Discover the historic heart of Évora, renowned as the “City-Museum” for its wealth of well-preserved monuments. Recognized as a UNESCO World Heritage Site since 1986, the city’s cultural and architectural significance is unparalleled.
2nd stop: Cathedral of Évora
Step inside this monumental granite cathedral, classified as a National Monument in 1907. Construction began in 1186, and while it was consecrated in 1204, the building was not fully completed until 1250.
3rd stop: Chapel of Bones
Visit this eerie yet fascinating chapel within the Convent and Church of São Francisco. The Capela dos Ossos is one of Évora’s most visited and thought-provoking sites.
4th stop: Aqueduto da Água de Prata
Admire the engineering marvel of the 16th-century Prata Aqueduct, inaugurated in 1537 and constructed under the supervision of architect Francisco de Arruda. Spanning 18 km, it once supplied water to the city from Herdade do Divor.
