Our story begins in Africa, where our founder was born and raised. Having spent many years exploring the vast landscapes of the African plains, he watched as the Acacia tree stood tall, strong, and unmistakably iconic. For centuries, its wide, umbrella-shaped canopy has been more than just a shelter from the sun — it has been a gathering place. Beneath its branches, strangers became friends, elders passed down their knowledge, and communities found a space to come together. It was a natural meeting point, a landmark of life on the open plain, and a symbol of resilience even in the harshest of landscapes. Fast forward to 2022, when our founder and co-founder met in Lisbon, Portugal — a city they both now proudly call home. Connected not only by friendship but by a shared generational Portuguese heritage, they found common ground in their love for nature, culture, and meaningful human experiences. What began as a conversation grew into a partnership, and ultimately into the creation of Tours by Acacia. Guided by their deep connection to Portugal, their appreciation for the natural world, and their belief in the power of human stories, Tours by Acacia was built upon the very principles symbolized by the Acacia tree.
